Lake Mead Christian

Q: How large are class
sizes?
A: Class sizes range
between 14-25 students.
Q: What extracurricular
activities do you have?
A: LMCA currently offers
missions opportunities,
sports, cheerleading,
fine arts, publications,
design, and student
government.
Q: Is LMCA recognized by
the State of Nevada?
A: Yes! Our school is
recognized by the Nevada
Department of Education
as a private school and
is operate as an exempt
school under the
provision of NRS 394.211
and as such is exempt
from the provisions of
the Private Elementary
and Secondary Education
act. LMCA offers
equivalent education,
and each grade level or
credit is fully
transferable.
Q: Is LMCA accredited?
A: LMCA is not
accredited at the
1st-12th grade level.
Our Early Education
program is licensed
through the state,
however the State of
Nevada does not require
accreditation for
private schools. LMCA is
a member of the
Association of Christian
Schools (ACSI).
Q: Are students required
to take an entrance
exam?
A: Students with average
to above average grades
from their previous
schools are not usually
tested for entrance.
Placement in mathematics
and language arts may be
determined through
assessment. Please note
that all students are
places on academic
probation for their
first semester at LMCA.
Q: What about Bible
instruction? Do all
students attend chapel?
A: Biblical principles
are the foundation for
all subjects taught at
LMCA. All students
attend daily Biblical
classes and weekly
chapel services.
Q: How does LMCA compare
with other schools in
National Testing?
A: We administer the
Stanford Achievement
Tests every year to K2-
10th grade students
where scores rank above
average as compared to
both public/parochial
schools.
Q: Do you have financial
assistance? Is there a
multi-child discount?
A: LMCA does not offer
discounts to its
families; however, you
may apply for financial
assistance. A separate
application is required
and financial
aid/scholarships are
granted based on need
and availability of
funds.
Q: Do you have a hot
lunch program?
A: Our hot lunch program
is available to 1st-12th
grade students. Parents
can order these meals
online each month.
Students who do not
order lunch can bring
meals from home.
Q: Do you wear uniforms?
A: The dress code at
LMCA is designed to
promote modesty and
appropriateness. Student
in grades K2-5th grade
are required to wear
solid color polo tops
and navy or khaki
uniform bottoms. Grades
6th-12th must wear the
official LMCA logo polo
and navy or khaki
uniform bottoms.

Q: How is tuition paid?
A: Parents may chose to
pay tuition monthly, per
semester, or in-full.
Even though we are a
nine-month school, we
operate on a
twelve-month billing
cycle. Monthly tuition
is paid through
automatic deduction.
Re-enrollment
Re-enrollment has
already begun for the
2008-2009 school year.
To secure your spot,
please follow these
simple instructions.
1. Log onto ParentsWeb.
2. Select “Re-enroll”
from the list on the
left. Update all family
and student information;
follow the prompts until
the application is
completed. A
confirmation email will
be sent to the school
when this is finished.
3. Pick up the
“LMCAdvantage” form from
the front office when
you drop off your
registration fee ($150
per student), or
download the form from
the website and mail
your registration check
to the school.

Here’s how to apply:
1. Download an
application. If you are
enrolling a student in
our preschool or
kindergarten program,
click here. If you are
enrolling a student in
1st-12th grade, click
here.
2. Complete the
application. Be sure to:
a. Distribute the
letters of
recommendation to the
appropriate parties.
These letters can be
returned directly to the
school via fax or mail.
b. Make a copy of your
child’s birth
certificate and shot
record to include the
completed application.
c. If you are applying
for our preschool or
kindergarten program,
have your child’s
pediatrician complete
the health physical
form. YOU must return
this completed form to
LMCA with your
application.
d. Read and sign each
form. Be sure to provide
complete information.
3. Return the
application to LMCA.

Q: What happens when I
bring my application to
LMCA? Do I need to
schedule a time to come
in?
A: You do not need to
schedule a time to
return your completed
application to LMCA.
Simply stop by the
admissions office of the
main building and ask
for the Admissions
Director. The director
will review your
application for
completeness. Please
note: Incomplete
applications are not
accepted. If your
application is not
complete, all the
paperwork will be
returned to you at the
time of your application
review.
Q: Is there an
application fee?
A: Yes, the application
fee is $25 per student.
Q: Once I turn in my
application, how long
does it take to hear
back from LMCA?
A: The admissions
process takes about
three weeks from the
time you turn in the
application. Once the
application has been
reviewed and summarized,
LMCA will call to
schedule a new family
interview. This process
may be shortened or
lengthened depending on
the volume of
applications the school
is currently processing.
Q: What happens after my
new family meeting?
A: If you choose to move
forward with enrollment,
you will be asked to pay
the registration fee
($150 per student) and
the non-refundable
portion of tuition. This
price will be given to
you at the time of your
meeting. Once this has
been paid, we will setup
your tuition payment
plan and assign your
student(s) to a class.
LMCA will add you to our
email list, and you will
begin receiving
communication from your
new school!
