Admissions Process and Policy

 

Admissions Process

Complete the application on-line ($50 application fee) and submit the requested documents listed below.

 

  •  Birth Certificate or Passport
  •  Updated Immunization Record & copy of insurance card
  •  Report card from the previous 2 years
  •  Recent standardized tests
  •  Any reports from individual testing (Sylvan, Child Find, etc.)
  •  $50 Application Fee

 

* Once all forms and completed application(s) are received, your application will be reviewed. Upon acceptance, you will receive a letter in the mail inviting you to schedule a meeting with the Administrator. Prospective students applying for grades 7-12 are required to attend this meeting.

* A prospective student may be assessed prior to finalizing grade placement. Testing is not mandatory for all students who apply.

* Upon the completion of meeting with the Administrator, a finance plan must be completed in the Finance Office.

* Once the enrollment process is complete, you will then be notified to schedule your orientation.

International Student Admission Process

* Complete the International Application on-line ($50 application fee) and submit the requested documents listed below.

 

  • Birth Certificate or Passport
  • Report card from the previous 2 years (In English)
  • 3 Letters of recommendations from current school attending
  • $50 Application Fee
  • Once all forms and the application are completed, applications are reviewed, and our International Partner, UEC, will reach out to you with next steps.

 

* An I-20 and acceptance letter are issued by LMCA and given to the family through UEC.

* Student(s) may be asked to take the TOELF or the TOELF Jr. prior to being accepted.

* http://www.ets.org/toefl/- We look for an average score of 60-70

* Upon the completion of meeting with the Administrator, a finance plan must be completed in the Finance Office.

* If applying for home-stay, a home-stay application must be completed.

 

 

Admissions Policy

* Lake Mead Christian Academy has an open admission

policy in which students are accepted regardless of race,

color, gender, religion, or national/ethnic origin. We are a non-denominational

school with a student body representing

various denominations.

* Every student is enrolled on a probationary status the first

semester of school. Students are removed from probation if they make acceptable academic,

behavior and spiritual progress.

* Governing Space Limitations

* Currently enrolled families will have priority regarding their sibling’s enrollment

* Those enrolling multiple students will have priority

* LMCA staff children will have priority

* Students with special needs: The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is a federal law to

ensure a Free and Public Education (FAPE) for all eligible children. Private school children with

disabilities do not have an individual entitlement to services they would receive if they were enrolled in

a public school.

* Lake Mead Christian Academy does not provide IEPs or 504 Plans. LMCA does not have a resource

room, special education case managers, or the capacity to offer individualized instruction for students

who may need additional support with learning or behavioral needs in the regular education setting.

While we cannot provide special education services on our campus, we do provide limited

accommodations on a case-by-case basis.

Health & Medical

* Students must be insured and parents provide proof of coverage with their application.

* In case of accident or injury, the school’s insurance policy will not cover medical expenses, except in

cases of clear negligence.

* Students must be current in immunizations and provide records (or exemption letters) as a

condition of enrollment.
