· There
is one room designated for
after-school detention and one
teacher as the primary overseer.
· Student
may not be tardy. The door will
be locked and latecomers will
have to serve at another date.
Door closes at 3:00. Those
unable to leave immediately with
their designated driver will be
put in Eagle’s Kids Care and
appropriately charged; this will
also apply to those who are
dismissed from detention due to
unacceptable behavior.
· Students
must be prepared to work either
on homework or reading an
appropriate book (NOT magazine).
· Students
will work the entire time; lack
of cooperation will cause
dismissal and the necessity to
make up the entire detention
time.
· Partial
detentions may not be served.
· Detentions
not served within the three days
will result in another level DT.
· DT’s
do not carry from class to
class, so a student could end up
with several detentions in a
week from different teachers.
· A
teacher may intensify the
consequence by adding an
apology, work day, financial
restitution, withdrawal of
privileges, and/or withdrawal
from class without credit.
· Each
teacher keeps a DT calendar
recording the student’s start
and stop time of 10 days.
· Everything
is cleared at the end of each
quarter, but all documentation
remains for the school year.
